Today I had two pieces go live, and they couldn't be more disparate. One of the things I love about writing is that I get to explore so many different areas of interest -- art, film, politics, history, personal writing. Today is an interesting look at what that means in practice.
Over at WildSpice, I have a piece on love, particularly the idea that love has to be hard to be worthwhile. I believe that love can be easy and warm, not just hard and difficult, and I explore that dichotomy in this piece.
Then, at Literally, Darling, I'm talking about torture. I studied Poli Sci and International Affairs, and torture came up a lot. Nonetheless, this piece was a real struggle to write. I have a lot of rage when it comes to this issue, and now that it is back in the public eye, I'm finding it very hard to stomach it. You can read more about my thoughts in that piece.
